Map of avalanche zones 1:25,000

Avalanche mapping is one of the priority tasks of the ICGC avalanche group. To achieve this purpose, from 1996 to 2006, the Avalanche Zone Maps were created. It is a collection of 14 maps at a scale of 1:25,000 that cover the Pyrenees of Catalonia.

The Avalanche Zone Map 1:25,000 is a thematic map that represents the areas that may be affected by avalanches. An avalanche zone is understood to be the area within which, over time, avalanche triggers of different sizes have occurred. Its limit is given from the maximum avalanche that the currently existing indications allow us to determine (geomorphological, vegetation and historical).
